Shrek the Musical

Wouldn’t it be amazing to be in a far off land where fairy-tale creatures live, true love exists, and where farting in public is expected? Well that is what Shrek the Musical is all about, and it is super fun to watch! Shrek the Musical is about an ogre named Shrek and a Princess Fiona who was trapped in a tower and Shrek went to save her. Fiona was cursed and every night at sunset she would turn into an ogre. The only thing that could break the curse was true loves first kiss. After Shrek saved her, she called him her hero. She always imagined her hero being a handsome Prince, and not an ogre which Fiona didn’t know Shrek was, and Shrek knew nothing of Fiona’s curse. The costumes were awesome, and so was the singing and acting.
The costumes were for the most part great, they really did a good job making it look like the characters in the movie. They had some problems with the dragon because it’s arm fell off, and some people said that the donkey looked more like a rabbit, and his ears weren’t fluffy.
The singing and acting was also very good. For the acting you could tell who was who, and they were very into character. For the singing, I think they did a pretty good job, but in some parts you couldn’t really understand what they were singing and saying.
Overall, the musical was great and I strongly recommend that you see it, because the students at our local highschool did an amazing job. There was a lot of laughs and awe’s, and it was a very romantic, funny, and an interesting musical. My overall rating even though I myself am not a huge fan of musical’s, would be 3 stars out of 5. I really liked the whole meaning of the play, and the costumes were very cute.
